Hello everyone. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the growth rate of burmese pythons? I want to get a baby albino ive seen but once its 6-7 foot itll have grown out of its viv size and ill need to upgrade, I wont have the room for another year or so so wondered if they are a slow growing snake?

Hiya kelf

I have been debating on this at the moment, really like the albino burmese but want albino and pastel royal as well but then I start thinking on the lines of I need to be able to dedicate enough time to the snakes to keep these nice and tame and happy, hard decisions especially with having the red tail boa as well, 2 dinosaurs to handle often and with long periods, would want them both puppy tame but am getting more and more tempted to buy one all the time and to make it worse I keep looking at the for sale adverts lol

You could alays sleep in a viv and give the burm your room :)

I like the bed idea though

LOL - are there any allotments near you? Or do you have a friend with a compost heap??

I once heard of a guy who decided elephant dung was just the thing for his runner beans. He obtained some from a local circus ... the beans died, but the bamboo supports sprouted in all directions ...

12 -36 eggs. (Though you might have trouble persuading Mama Burm to part with them.)

And a dump that weighs 2 stone and is very smelly! Jeez, try flushing that down the loo!!!!
Kelfezond Posted - 17/06/2011 : 14:46:25
Haha, how many babies do Burms have? 50?
reptilemadd Posted - 17/06/2011 : 14:18:40

Kelfezond Posted - 17/06/2011 : 13:48:39
I think I'm allowed to when we move out and get more room :D

Should be able to do it in 2 months. It'll be great

hmmm, more like things that go bump in the night methinks BATS! U should defo get a burm Kelf, i've got a normal 12ft male and a 7ft albino female, be warned tho - they'll eat like pigs given half a chance and grow so quick - my female is 2yrs old and already manages small rabbits, my males on adult rabbits (both fed every 10 days). BUT if u find a placid youngster and handle 'em regularly they're just as friendly as a royal :)

Oh?

And there was me thinking you were going to say, oh but yes, I'd rather live like a monk in order to keep my burm ...

A case of disorderly habits ...?
