Posted - 17/09/2011 : 19:56:33 After toying with the idea of a larger snake joining our little family for a while, after a lot of debating me and my OH went to The Reptile Room in Cleveleys, which is an absolutely fantastic place, to go and see a few.
We'd been considering boas and the bigger pythons, and handled some adult and juvenile retics (pure and dwarf), amazingly beautiful animals! After a lot of discussion, we ended up coming away with this little sweetheart who caught my OH's eye! She's a Dwarf Sunfire poss Double Het Genetic Stripe and Albino
The pics really don't do her justice, and the poor girl doesn't have a name yet |

I can imagine her colours stand out even more in real life.
I got no idea for names right now, just wanted to let her know how pretty she was ; ) |

congrats on the lovely boa, not my cup of tea lol (too big), but gorgeous

Welly: Expensive in a word lol £700, but thats because she's a good example sunfire poss double het genetic stripe and albino, normals are less heart attack inducing!
Thanks Martin, they do love faces for some reason! Helia likes to climb up through my hair and sit on my head! The retics in The Reptile Roomweren't strikey really, Helia tagged me last week but only after feeding so pretty much expected! |

Posted - 25/09/2011 : 01:53:21 Hiya
Have to agree shes stunning
I had hold of a 39kg slightly unsure retic last week and gotta say it took some real concentration and strength to control the big sod, constantly wanting to go its own way and also seems to love heading towards the face, no way was I letting it up to that area when it has a history of striking and another thing that surprised me was how active it was, really took me by surprise but definitely a new experience to cherish and learn from, really can`t see how people handle these full size retics apart from in great numbers lol
A dwarf is a very good choice i reckon and gotta love them eyes
