Hiya
Over the last couple of weeks ive started socializing my 4 snakes together so they can all get as much time out with us as possible and just got a couple of pics of the burmese python and the rainbow boa today as they just looked like a happy couple lol
Gives you all a good idea of how zeus is doing as he`s 500g now and angel is 1100g, both doing really well
I really like this one, looks like there both peeping

I was actually warned about IBD from the breeder of the burmese funnily enough but had already had my royal in contact with the red tail boa and the rainbow boa so was pretty sure there all free from it thankfully as I knew nothing about that till they mentioned it

Just one tiny word of caution. Boas can carry IBD without ANY symptoms or effect on their life, it is, however, fatal VERY quickly in pythons. It's a bit late now but if you do want to allow cross contamination you are better off boa to boa and python to python.
One good side though is that if the pythons are ok after contact you can pretty much guarantee that the boa is IBD free :)
Some of the larger Boa breeders have been known to have one royal in the collection to show any signs of the disease quickly (its the cheapest way to test for it, like it or not) They kinda act like canaries used to in the mines in the olden days......
Cute animals though, I do miss my old BRB, but I am a python man through and through (unless an ETB lands on the door some day) |

Ye I have had the same thoughts if I am completely honest but decided to give it a go, they all seem very settled and unbothered about being near each other, I understand that if they were to attack one another then am no way fast enough to stop it happening but am always very close to them usually sat on the floor with them and angel and dorris usually head back to me anyway so fingers crossed it will all be well
As far as I know all my snakes I would like to think are all very fit and well so not overly worried about any diseases

I'd be worried about mixing them in that way. Few reasons; if one is ill they all get ill, they are not a social animals so could get stressed in such close proximity and lastly if one does decide its dinner time (even if its unlikely) there is a slim chance you wont be able to separate them. Maybe I'm just over cautious, I use hand gel between handling one snake and the next, I suppose if you've had them all over 6 months (quarantine period) then the risk is minimal. |

Must agree there, zeus is an absolute gem totally unfazed at all times and very active when out of his viv, the iridescence is spectacular as well when caught in sunlight, as a matter of fact I am looking for a special female for him at the moment but can`t decide which variation to go far at the moment
Heres one taken a week or so ago on my phone when she was out with dorris, this happens every weekend for a few hours as they both like to be out and free to explore on the floor, not as good quality a pic but good enough to see the difference in girth of dorris, she is actually 1 month younger than angel believe it or not, just goes to show how the feeding can slow the growth down BUT with a slower growth rate comes a healthier longer living snake so well worth the wait
