You could try defrosting one of each together in a bag and give them a good rub together so that the rat has mouse scent on it.

If he still doesn't want the rat, offer the mouse first and then the rat straight after.

I'll have a crack at the rubbing thing, got a rat weaner in the freezerso will get a mouse this week

I'll try him again tomorrow when his mouse has gone down
funny enough i tried a rat weaner last night same colour and size as extra large mouse, he turned his nose up at it put the extra large mouse I had and he went straight for it!!! don;t know what to do to get him on rats???

I would have guessed more.

I weighed him a month ago Blackecho and he was 680g according to my analogue scales but I ain;t sure how accurate they are
He looks to me a bit chunkier than he was when I got him

Very nice looking royal and a nice size too.
Blackecho Posted - 27/08/2009 : 08:34:23
I'm sure you know your dog, but we have no idea how they'll react to being bitten on the nose by a snake. Anyway, enough about the dog, lovely snake, how much does he weigh?
Simonas Posted - 27/08/2009 : 08:00:02
fortunately I know my dogs not like that he doesn;t tug on anything but in hindsight I wouldn;t do that again
I have no idea of exact age but the guy I bought him off said about 3? He just over 3ft long andseems to be getting slightly thicker since I had him
spor Posted - 27/08/2009 : 00:35:38
looks a nice size. Wouldn't risk letting our dog near the snake she would defo think it was a tug toy

Beautiful snake glad the dog didn't have a go though !
matty18714 Posted - 26/08/2009 : 22:42:40
Nice snake, but how would you (and more importanly the snake) feel if the dog had a go?
Blackecho Posted - 26/08/2009 : 22:29:26
Decent size, and no,probably not sensible having the dog there.
