Posted - 31/08/2009 : 09:18:28 Karl, after our conversation yesterday, and the state of Oscars viv again this morning, i decided to introduce them..
Was going to introduce Peanut to as he is now at wrecking stage in his viv as well....and trying everything to get out..but i will leave him a few days then see..
It was funny, Oscar was soooooooooooooooooo excited, he did not do his normal exploring like he does when he is out, but kept following Sabine around he was tasting her with his tongue and so cute and funny.....
So my intitial thoughts as to why he was not eating were right...
and have to decide if i should put him in with her....think i will get some feeds into her first....
so excited about breeding them now..
but had to share this with you Karl...tell Stig, Sabine will be ok... |

might have to take it more seriously as i move more into boids though
That's the danger one, and even a few month quarantine is no garauntee
Definately. Sherman is downstairs in the rep room dining room () and The Hoff is two floors up in mine and Jo's bedroom. Got alcohol handrub stuff in both rooms, anti-bac handwash in the nearest bathrooms and I do change after handling The Hoff. Paranoid? Me? No, surely not .
His 6 month quarantine period is due to finish mid to late October but only if I am completely happy and, if I can afford it then, he had had a physical at the rep vets. Very lucky here in that the rep vet he is registered with keeps snakes and is into Dums and pythons. |

Quarantine?
TBH who actually does? I dont, as i dont have enough room, and unless you change clothes etc between handling different snakes its defeating the object.
I go as far as upstairs and downstairs for quarantine, but as said, no clothes swap = no point in real terms.
Anyways, to make Anne feel better she was frontlined before sending, so unless she has some horrific hidden disease she should be ok (as mine are all clear and well)
I do think Stig can tell she has gone as he no longer tries to break out every night |

Posted - 28/08/2009 : 20:22:07 I did too when I had the king. It was seen to last (and at the end of the day) and I used a differant sink to clean its equipment and change the water. It was also kept on a differant floor. |

Posted - 28/08/2009 : 12:04:11 I genuinely miss her. Glad you are happy. I put her old hide in Stigs viv last night and he destroyed his viv. If she ain't female Stig is gay, lol
Jacob looks lost in her viv now, used to seeing a 1.7kg Royal in there, not a puny IJCP
Strangely Stig was quieter last night than the previous few, so the theory they can "smell" females might be true. |

Quarantine?
she was there temporarily and is now settled in a viv, but her hide is to small so tomorrow i have to go get her another cos she is wearing it like a jacket...
I think i found out Peanuts sex to cos he was out today and he does not normally venture out daytimes after a feed... |
