Hi guys, picked up my 1st snake 2 weeks ago after searching all over for a royal. Prefered a male no older than 1 year and found this crackin little fella. Hatched Feb 09 and is 20" long, Struggled for a name but settled on "Reg" from their scientific name Python Regius.
Seems to be settling in and eating well, so far haha.

Ta guys! He's growing quick! 5 weeks ago at the pet shop we measured him to ba about 13-14" long, I brought him home 2 weeks ago and measured him out streatched along the tank at 20" then yesterday he did the same and although his neck was slightly "S" shaped, measured 21"! Is this normal grow rate at 1st or is it because of extra space? He lives in a 100x40x40 tank.
As for the liquid by his nostrils, it just apears to be flash reflection. Got me worried though haha

What a gorgeous lovely guy. But correct me if i'm wrong. i see some liquid beside its nostrils is that a problem?

Haha thanks again guys.
Got him from a local pet shop in Hyde, £65 plus extra for some bits.
Small price for something so amazing imo

rat weaners are normally average 25-50g in weight. and you want the prey size to be 10-15% the body weight of you snake.
MrLee Posted - 02/01/2010 : 19:24:14
Ta pal. Yeah I've been told rats are best for them, although I'm not sure when to move him onto rat weeners?
Robert Posted - 02/01/2010 : 19:18:26
Good looking guy and on rats too he should do well :)
MrLee Posted - 02/01/2010 : 13:06:46
Cheers for the welcome, I'm from Manchester.
Think he's on rat fuzz's at the moment about 2-3" and as fat as the thickest part of his body.
