Well I thought I'd show you what my lovely royals are living In
It holds 6 x 21l rubs and 3 x 5/9 l rubs

I have another one that's not put togeather
so when its time to move to 50l rubs both will hold 3 each
So that's my 6 royals sorted

What ya think

My long term plans is to have viv stacks covering one side of the alcove floor to ceiling, it is about 5ft wide, but that will take somesaving.. lol

The rack is a temp (well a couple of years or so) measure..

I should imagine the fuel would be more than £20 but I could have the large one delivered for that amount too.. I have some time to think it out..
MrsA82 Posted - 26/05/2011 : 22:32:05
Will £20 what your saving get you the round trip of 130 mile in £20 petrol

I'm happy with the rack setup and is a lot cheaper than the vision and pro racks
I'd love them but not at this time maybe one day ill have some visions

I am, I am looking at getting 2 of the taller ones, then can put Luna's viv in the middle :-) Someone on ebay is flogging the 180cm high ones for 30 quid each, so would be 60 just got to decide if i can be bothered to drive the 65 mile to collect them ;-)
MrsA82 Posted - 26/05/2011 : 21:19:27
they had £5 off i think probley will do again in the future
but it will work out less than if you was to go buy the wood from homebase/b&q
and then you would have to design it make the holes that might be of line i know we probley would have lol

this is what we will get when the price goes down for a hatching rack
if the price dont go down still a bargin price for a rack thats not white

are you going to sort a rack out then luck
Lucy1012 Posted - 26/05/2011 : 20:52:45

MrsA82 Posted - 26/05/2011 : 20:45:49
Metal bracket with 4 holes in
4 screws per bracket 2 on one shelf 2 on the other

Lucy1012 Posted - 26/05/2011 : 20:34:05

MrsA82 Posted - 26/05/2011 : 16:33:04
So me and the O/H had some time spare today so we thought we would put the shelf up and make the 3x 50l rub rack up ready when the royals
Move up (long time yet but it's best be ready :)
we have the heat mats, rubs and 3 pulse habistats one for each level ;)

Hi, Stumpy, if you're having difficulty entering the competition, email your pic to Kelf, and he'll put it up for you.

(Me, I can't even get on to photobucket ...)
stumpy Posted - 11/05/2011 : 20:20:28
Sorry, its for the may comp.on general posts. But when i put it on photobucket come out go to new topic paste it then it goes onto rp photos not onto general posts, does this make sense because when i read it looks like i lost the plot.
MrsA82 Posted - 11/05/2011 : 20:13:12
Thanks stumpy

I don't understand what your trying to say dear

Is there a competition site ?
stumpy Posted - 11/05/2011 : 20:06:13
Very nice MrsA. Can i ask you a question, i know you put your photo on for may, beautiful it is, but how do you get it to go onto the competition site, i can get onto the photos bit?
MrsA82 Posted - 11/05/2011 : 19:07:53
Lol I'll tell the O/H

Temp at the bottom of thenracks only getting to 30.5 c now
He's going to get another pulse stat
Tops on 32.5/9

He's been trying to sort it out now for about 2 weeks :(

Stat will solve it

I have never heard of wood storing heat mat heat to the point of self combustion been that the approx ignition temperature of wood is over 270oC. Its physically improbable that a heat mat could cause this to occur without mat failure and even then the mat itself would have to catch fire to get the heat anywhere near hot enough to ignite the frame. You've nothing to worry about Louise.
reptilemadd Posted - 11/05/2011 : 12:02:35
So sorry didn't mean to worry you but like you said it may well help with the temps
MrsA82 Posted - 11/05/2011 : 11:38:12
You got me worried rep mad

So O/H just foiled them up

Maybe help the temps as well :)
reptilemadd Posted - 10/05/2011 : 17:38:39
Sorry Mrs the mat doesn't explode lol the wood can self ignite because of the build up of heat as I said in my last post it is a very extreme thing to happen but there is always that possibility, if you look on the D.I.Y section there is a guide to building a rack using conti board and a heat cable instead of heat mats, and they use aluminium tape under the heat cable to reflect the heat back and stop a build up of heat in the conti board.

MrsA82 Posted - 10/05/2011 : 13:52:08
No never heard of a heat mat exploding

Anyone else do this..?
