Hi all my names Lee totally new to keeping Royals but have kept Corns for quite a few years.
Anyhow id like to share just a couple of images with you of my Royal Python Molineux.

------------------------------------

So pleased with him i thought i would share a few more images i took today while doing the daily routines (water/tank check/snake check)

Closer look at his colors , Thought this may help to identify if he's a standard Royal after the questions reguarding the orange underneath.
4

He loves to sit on my hand in the sunshine , Shows his colors up, Amazing !

1: He loves the log we got him , its a little large but plenty of climbing and hiding places (fully treated purchased from a reputable reptile shop)

3: Took this while holding him today , Loves to be held by our window in the sunshine , Hopefully someone can tell me by his colors if he is a standard Royal. (please)

7: All snug in his hide :)

Thanks again for looking and commenting and for all the help in identifiying via his markings.

The shop tells me he's just 4 months old (unsure if they got that right)apparently he's just a standard Royal.

Im hopeing to weigh him this weekend and get a few more pics so hopefully a few of you more experienced members will be able to tell me more.

Lee :)

He is indeed ;) It was the small orange marks on the underside next to the black that made it a easy choice of name :)

Ill see if i can get some pictures of the underside when he's next out if he seems like he's calm enough and content for me to move him about.

As far as i know he is a standard Royal but being new im not 100% but i can easly give the guy i purchased him off a call to find out will report back when i have ;)

Blind-folded aliens X )

But I have to agree that they look more like they're wearing sunglasses!

Anywho, he's very pretty. I like the patterning too, I like the splotches down his back : )

Is he a normal? I ask just 'cause he looks very deep orange just before his belly. I've never seen that before. It's lovely.

I would leave handling to a bare minimum until you get three feeds into him just to be sure he is settled and happy. Lots of royals wont strike feed but need it left in overnight (mine included) its a shame they dont put on a show but as long as they eat its all good.

They are lovely snakes, a bit shy but so sweet and easy to handle.

Thanks guys
I dunno why I never got a python sooner :)
He seems to be settled well , we had a feed refusal the first week but tried a few times but no joy but we put that down to environment change etc ..
Retried feeding him Wednesday this week turned his nose up at it again so we left it in the viv and covered the front up to give him some privacy and he took it within 3 hours so I'm really pleased he took it :)

Handling wise he seems happy enough try to hold him each day for 5 to 10 mins except feed days , I'll drop some images on tomorrow of the viv setup see if you guys think it looks ok for him.

They're wearing gun glasses, the sun is bright in outer space lol.

(If anyone is confuzzed, the alien reference is the patterning looking like aliens).

I love that blind-folded alien side pattern.

Congrats and welcome!
