hi there,
we purchased our newest family member last sunday,
she is called matilda and is a gorgeous baby royal,
we have been handling her with no problems at all and she has her first feed from us yesterday which went very well indeed (i think)
she stiked out straight away coiled round her food then ate is all in just a few short minutes, im assuming this is good,
we left her to settle for only a few days as advised by the breeder and she seems perfectly fine, doesnt appear to be in any way unhappy about being handled and is so calm and gentle.
I have to admit that i was very afraid to buy a snake as all previous reptile experience has been with bearded dragons so a snake was a big change for me but im really pleased that i decided to go ahead, she is amazing to watch at night while exploring her new surroundings, im still a little nervous of hurting her as she is so tiny but im sure she will soon get a lot bigger.

Hi, I left you a message on the weight chart post, but long story short she is perfectly fine at that weight.

Sounds good that she is eating, on here we recommend leaving handling until you get three feeds down them so they can settle in but it is just a guide and if she is feeding then dont worry about it, just allow her 48 hours on her own to digest her meals. If she does stop feeding though then its probably best to follow the guide but its unlikely to happen.

Royals aren't a bad starting point for getting into snakes, they can be fussy about eating but its to be expected and not a problem its just what they do.

Anyway have a read of some to the stickies on the forum, they are what are considered the good reads on here, and if you have any questions then fire away and the only silly question on this forum is one you dont ask.
