Posted - 08/01/2013 : 05:03:43 yes there wil be a large amount that die in their first year in the wild due to preditation ect where as captive's don't have this problem unless their not being given the care they need.
does make me laugh how they still claim most die in their first year, load of c***, all of mine bar the burm are 2+ year's old my tai beauty snake is around 10 year's old.

Posted - 07/01/2013 : 23:13:29 People can dress a fact in whatever way to swing either way. Like the X% of reptiles die in the first year. OK I have no evidence (cant be bothered to even try compiling it as its inconsequential in my opinion) other than maybe my extreme good luck to have never had one die in the first year BUT how many die in the wild in the first year. I put good money on captive animals having a much higher chance of surviving that first year. |
