Posted - 21/04/2013 : 15:41:14 As promised a few pics showing how the viv is secured sorry about how crap they are as i was limited with the space i had to move around
1st is the top showing the dowel and cam type fixing there is 2 of them either end and 1 in center for front plinth
The plinths have 2 dowels either end and the rest is just screwed on
Back is held in place with 4 screws one each corner
Bottom is held with 5 screws 1 each corner And 1 in center at back
and put together with tiled floor lights and background fitted
just waiting for silicone drying and will add basking rocks and branches etc. and post a final pic.
I will add that although i think the fixings are inadequate for a viv this size it does seem better quality than the vivexotic i have and thicker wood so if you add extra screws as i did then its perfect and a good size too

Posted - 26/04/2013 : 06:21:57 The arcadia range are good a t5 d3+ 12% desert tube with the suitable starter will be fine without reflector or the reptisun 10.0 tube either |

Posted - 26/04/2013 : 01:44:56 Didn't you already buy all your beardie stuff? |

Posted - 25/04/2013 : 21:21:10 I got mine from a local pet shop, for your viv id go with the 24w slimline luminaire and offset it to the hot end or even just get a separate starter unit and tube to suit as the luminaire has a reflector built in and they are quite strong so you'd not be able to have too high basking areas as the beardie should not be able to get any closer than 12" where as the normal tubes without reflector is 8" or so |

Posted - 25/04/2013 : 13:26:21 What size viv have you got? Either swell reptiles or surrey pet supplies are cheapest for stats and bulbs if you can find a new habistat digital dimming stat i highly recommend them they have built in timer and extra socket for your uv |

Posted - 25/04/2013 : 11:30:22 hello, your setup looks amazing i really like the background iv got most things for my beardie setup
i need the arcadia slimline uv light but dont know which one to get the 24w or the 39w but the 39w is out of stock
also where is the best place to get thermostat and spot bulbs? |

Posted - 22/04/2013 : 20:55:47 There is a few types i got the dimmer one it has 2 sockets linked to it one for the heater which you can set day and night time temps for then there's a socket for lights uv or fogger or mister that can be timed to go on and off twice a day but im using it for the spot bulb set to come on in morning and off at half 8 im using separate timers for my uv tube and arcadia led for night viewing happy with those too as they make the viv look great at night |

Posted - 22/04/2013 : 18:53:36 Just to add too im using one of the habistat digital stats and must say they are awesome pieces of kit it runs my ceramic and spot bulb although the spot bulb is just on the timer to come on and off at set times but i only have this as a light really and not heat source |

Posted - 22/04/2013 : 18:47:18 Set it going an hour ago its now got cool end is sitting at 28c and basking spot is at 108f so id say it works just as well |

Posted - 22/04/2013 : 18:09:11 One thing i've always wanted to no,If the slim ceramic does the same job as a normal one.Can push the heat down to the bottom of the viv etc.
I've tried their led's,so the ceramic should be good to :) |

Posted - 21/04/2013 : 23:29:57 Yeah no idea what make my viv is,always thought it was monkfield. But mine has larger vents etc.
Maybe they change it etc etc.
Anyway for the price vs the vivexotic it looks alot better.More so vs the higher priced new vivexotic :) The t5 slimline hood looks tiny to :) Have you tested that little slim ceramic yet? |
