Posted - 22/04/2013 : 17:52:19 I usually clean Juju out once a month, replacing his aspen substrate. He has been fasting since November now, and it seems like a really pointless exercise everytime. He doesnt eat, therefore he doesnt poo. Ive had 1 or 2 urates since November which ive picked up immediately. So im finding when i clean him out the viv/aspen is as clean as when i put it in
Seems as pointless as this post really.... but im bored so hey! |

Posted - 23/04/2013 : 01:18:17 I have to admit I only clean an area surrounding a mess when it occurs but deep clean every few months.
My corn and house snake are a different story, they are messy and need cleaned far more often, fortnightly. Boa dictates when she needs cleaned, when she goes to the toilet, it's carnage usually once a month (around the 19th, she is regular like clockwork).
I think the water bowl area is the main place to keep clean as moisture and heat is a bacteria breeding ground, I move the substrate around so it ends up dried out under the bulb often. Wipe down the bowls daily and stick them in the dishwasher weekly to really deep clean them. |

I always do mine like yourself,or when the substrate is getting low, from cleaning out poop etc. |
