Posted - 15/05/2013 : 16:42:33 My partners daughter is dealing with the topic snakes this term. And at her school her teacher was very snotty regarding these beautiful reptiles.
But tried to down grade her due to APPARENTLY snakes only having no more than 100 scales. And her picture of many scales was wrong. And also mocked all the students stating no one in the class can clearly keep these.
I'm tempted to take my Boa and Royal into her and get the stupid women to count every scale both mine have. |

Posted - 20/06/2013 : 16:45:30 Well a bit of a disappointing update. We had daughters parents evening other day. And it just happened to of had a meeting with the art teacher. Well what a slow useless teacher she is. After confronting her of the situation n Lieing straight to my face about it. She denied all acknowledgment of the conversation to students. My partner got my daughter to ask her teachers if i could bring it in. Gutted as i was gonna walk in there with him lol And then turned around to ask what snakes I have. After I told her I had a 7 foot boa constrictor. She got little bit scared lol towards the end of conversation she wouldn't make eye contact n kept saying I don't know to everything we said.
She then made an excuse of how students would be repetitive with the scales. I just looked. I was speechless. How could I return with a reasonable answer? I couldn't.
Next thing the head of art department got involved n the teacher kept stuttering n went red lol so we walked away and left her embarrassed.
Needless to say I'm still not finished with this. |

Posted - 16/05/2013 : 21:01:01 Yup now you've brought it up you have to satisfy us haha. The idea of taking in a snake skin is a very good idea- very educating for the class and the teacher. In fact, your daughter can take it in and show it to her teacher can't she? |

Posted - 16/05/2013 : 10:58:22 This misguided knowledge on snakes is oh so common. I'd be tempted to take in a shed skin and ask him to justify his assumption that snakes have 100 scales and how he believes that evolution is just that precise haha. |

Posted - 16/05/2013 : 09:06:15 I can understand a lack of knowledge but if yr a teacher asking a class to draw snakes I'd at least google and get a few facts first |

Posted - 15/05/2013 : 20:11:50 That's so wrong. I'd take it higher than just the class teacher and I'd also ask for a re-grade.

Posted - 15/05/2013 : 19:07:05 How ridiculous! Can you imagine the size of the scales if this was true!? lol! that would look weird! Thats like saying a bird has no more that 100 feathers lol! |

Posted - 15/05/2013 : 18:44:20 Im impressed she could be bothered to draw more than 100 scales. I think i would have got bored and the scales would have started to get bigger and bigger as I went down the snake lol. |

Posted - 15/05/2013 : 17:51:30 If you was closer kelf I'd take you on lol suppose my 7 foot boa should do it
But what a joke? Clearly the teachers know nothing and teaching kids terrible information. Especially to down grade them on the issue. |

Posted - 15/05/2013 : 16:44:49 DO IT! Have your daughter ask if they want your snakes to be brought in, they will obviously say yes and then you phone up the teacher and tell her when you're coming in! And then casually ask the class how many scales they can count... |
