Posted - 01/06/2013 : 17:28:29 .......... another learning curve! This time, Honey struck beautifully but when she uncoiled she had the head side-on. Instead of working her mouth round to the nose (as I have seen on countless videos), she persisted in swallowing the head sideways - this pushed the head round, so she had to get head and shoulders down together (made my eyes water!) - I wondered whether to interrupt, so she would regurgitate and start again, or hope that her instincts would tell her whether or not she could manage it. In the end I left her and she coped - and I had to chuckle at the pointy nose pushing at her flank from the inside, as mousey went down - Maybe I should show Honey those 'how to do it' videos before her next feed! |

Posted - 05/06/2013 : 00:27:47 Upped Oscar food to large weaner rat. Struck, coiled, tried and failed to drag it into his hide, flipped it about then scoffed it. Took more effort than usual but he seemed to enjoy the process hehe |

They don't take on more than they can handle and they can handle a lot more than we give them.

Posted - 03/06/2013 : 12:49:02 I just leave mine to it if they eat at an odd angle. I've not had a regurge or other issues yet! |

Posted - 03/06/2013 : 12:21:08 Oscar eats in the most bizarre manner. I was worried at first but now I just leave him to get on with it. Took one on mid body tried to fold and couldn't then after 40 mins took tail first. Hopeless. |
