Posted - 18/11/2013 : 22:47:47 I use the Accurite Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer with Hygrometer. It's digital and has a sensor for ambient temps and a probe for remote temps (supposedly use to run the wire outside the window to determine outdoor temps). And it comes with a hygrometer.
Now, the thing about hygrometers is - it measures the amount of moisture around the unit. So that... if it is directly above a water bowl, it will read much higher than if it is farther away from it, so you can have a 70% reading right next to the water bowl but the enclosure is actually only 30%.
So, I always make sure to place the hygrometer at the farthest end from the water bowl.
Humidity is very important in Florida - we have days when it is near 0 and days when it is near 100. And the indoor humidity swings with it.

Posted - 18/11/2013 : 21:18:50 I'm a other one who dumped them as utter junk. Waste of time and money monitoring their humidity. It's always fine. |

Posted - 17/11/2013 : 20:30:08 The most reliable one I had was a dial type not the digital ones!! I tested them against a Pro humidity tester for buildings & the dial type was always closer. Not that I bother either anymore as the humidity in my house is always the same & I just spray the animals vivs that need it |
