Posted - 06/12/2013 : 15:18:15 Hi all. I have the above stat that states a minimum load of 2.6 amp. I have four small mats that I want to control with it. They don't state an ampage but are each marked 10 watt. Not being electronically minded can anyone tell me if they will meet the minimum ampage of the stat ? Thanks all. |

Posted - 06/12/2013 : 22:25:36 personally i wouldn't risk it an would feel much happier with at least 60w going through the dimmer.
with a dimmer on heatmat's your likely to still get a bit of temp variation like you would with a mat stat switching between on/off |

Posted - 06/12/2013 : 16:30:40 the minimum load needed for a habistat dimmer is 40w but personally i think it would be safer to have it running more that the bare minimum as if one mat packed up the other's could run flat out as the wattage is lower than the minimum.
pulse stat's work much better with heat mat's and there's no minimum wattage as far as i know |
