Posted - 11/07/2009 : 19:55:43 Ok Thought i would feed her in her viv for the first feed so their was less stress. She was in her hide with her nose poking out. I put the rat in and held it in front of the hide for 2 seconds, next minute she had nearly pulled me in her viv. She grabbed it and went back in her hide. It happened so quick i didn`t even see her. I can see her moving about in there so i take it she is eating it. Now the question lol (sorry). When i bought her i was told she was on small weaners. The weaner i gave her weighed 46g and she weighs 960g. I know the ratio is 10 - 15% of the snakes body weight but do you think i should give her another one or leave it as it is her first feed.
Oh and btw, thanks everyone for the advice on the first thread. |

you could try her on two weaners at the same weight...
i was told that they benefit more from two smaller ones rather than a big one...but having never had to do this i dont know..lol..

You can try to offer multiple feeds. She may not take it but give it a go.. |

Posted - 11/07/2009 : 19:59:24 Thats what i thought. I have got a bag of small weaners now. Would it be ok to give her 2 weaners instead of a small rat?
Oh, and thank you dazb |

Posted - 11/07/2009 : 19:57:50 I would leave it as her first feed today but increase it to a large weener for the next feed or two, then on to small rats...better to increase the size slowly.
congrats on the feed... |
