Posted - 19/07/2009 : 22:14:21 should be ok then,i suppose the larger the order the colder they stay, did they put any type of ice packs in with them? |

Posted - 19/07/2009 : 22:00:09 now that is a doggy 1. if it were for human consuption i would not refreeze. as for rodents for snakes. as long as the parcel has not got over +3c i would refreeze for sure. when i have delt with TSM in the past i have found that pinkies or rat pups defrost slightly but are still semi frozen so straight in the freezer there fine. the larger rodents have always been fully frozen when arrived. |

that is reccomended by the EHO for human consumption. but if stored correctly once frozen to -18c there is not going to be any change to the strucure of the cells (they only burst once). |

i would say that would be fine. a few things to try to do is keep ice off them so either use sealable bags or takeaway boxes. and that will cut the risk of freezer burn. |

Posted - 19/07/2009 : 21:39:01 most stand alone freezers are deep freeze look for a symbol that looks like 3-4stars if unsure and got a spare digi thermometer stick it in your freezer it should read between -16 and -19c. rats will last in there for ever (within reason) as long they dont defrost at any point |

Posted - 19/07/2009 : 21:33:36 the thing is their for my adult kings to so will always need them, without sounding stupid, what do you mean by "deep freeze freezer" i have a under counter seperate freezer.
edit see by your edit you mean -18 |

Posted - 19/07/2009 : 21:29:49 as long as the freezer is a deep freeze freezer(-18c) they will keep until your snakes out grow them |
