I was at home playing with the kids when the banner came up at the bottom of the screen on CBeebies stating that a light aircraft had hit. Flicked the telly over expecting to see a Cessna hanging out of one of the towers and expecting to go hee hee hee look at that. How wrong I was. It was awful. I will certainly never forget that day.

May all the unfortunate victims of that day rest in peace. I know somebody mentioned the brave emergency services personnel but let's also remember those brave souls who fought back on board the other aircraft that crashed into the fields.

I remember a friend phoning me at home and telling me to turn on the TV. When I asked what channel she replied "doesn't matter." When I saw the footage of the first plane hit I thought it was an accident until it switched back to live coverage and I saw the second.

I was at home with a friend - my husband came in - had been out in the car and told me to turn on TV as a plane had crashed into the towers.....the rest is history.

I watched '102 minutes that changed america' this week on TV - seen it before, but it really hits home the horror of the whole situation and the devestation that was caused, not just for those that died - God bless them, but for those that have to live with the trauma of the aftermath, having been in the area at the time.

Those firemen were real heroes, and all that survived deserve a medal.

As for the conspiracy theorists..... well the least said about them the better.

I was off work with a broken foot and could not go out. A very sad day. Been listening to the radio today with all the idiots ringing up with the conspiracy theory that president bush set it up,makes you sick.

My sentiments too.
I had just walked into my old employers to say hello after starting work for royal mail, when one of the courier drivers called over the radio that a light aircraft had flown into one of the twin towers.
How wrong the first reports were.
