Hi, all
I have been thinking of building a racking system for when we move into new house. so have been doing a bit of hunting on the web. found this site/forum thought i would share thread with you all as i know a couple of others had been talking about racks a few months ago.

in fairness I would say that with the size of mat and rubs he is using then yeah. Again i'm sure he doesn't have that problem, but with our weather it would be a different matter.. The one person who i know how does using the racking system houses at least
12 adult royals on it. They all seem very happy and he doesn't appear to have any problems with temp. He has the rack in his small rep shop which is built in to the back of his garage. sounds a bit rough. but he had it all professionally fitted out with stud walling and electrics. He does not run any additional heat in the room that i have been aware of. I'll ask next time i'm out paying a bit more of Kanu.

one thing on this...

if your using a rack with heat mats/cable would you need to maintain a warmer room temp?

I was just being a bit picky spor...lol...

It is a good and wot looks to be, cheap method.

I dont think that any polystyrene is needed. The heat transfer when using mats would be minimal i would have thought. Most of us that do have have heat transfer is when we are using ceramics, lamps, RR etc that are fitted to the roof of the viv.

thought the same myself. then just thought well its in the states they do things different over there,LOL

No i was really only posting it for the technical aspect of the framed structure...
Though i think i would also add a thin self between each level to hold a sheet of polystyrene for insulting and controlling heat transfer.
