james200789 Posted - 15/01/2010 : 00:51:06
you can smell it in the viv as soon as you open the doors, its like the strongest smelling fart gas in the world i think it must smell this bad due to the protein from the rat/mouse

hey BE while we on the poo subject could you shed some light on my question in the health section please
Blackecho Posted - 14/01/2010 : 21:44:28
Yes, the bones are digested but they struggle to digest the fur so pass it eventually.

Hmmmmmmm, i know i said id be poo hunting but i have my limits you know!

intresting stuff though
reptilekeeper1992 Posted - 14/01/2010 : 21:12:11
i think most of it is digested yes. I have heard that if you break open a royal poo then sometimes you can find white fur from the mouse in it

you know, i did think those balls were the remains of the mouses bones until you told me what they really are, so what happens to the bones and all the little hard bits? do they just disolve in the stomach acid?
reikiangel Posted - 14/01/2010 : 21:02:44
nice one, thanks for the reasurance guys. i shall be poop hunting from now on! lol

Yep

Also as above, the frequency will depend on how much is going in. Mine tend to go every 4 to 6 weeks or when they shed, every couple of months isn't uncommon.

Don't worry, you can't miss it when they go!
