Hi there all a Q some week ago i was having trouble with (bones my female)she was being viv defensive so done all the good advice from everybody and thank you all started feeding in a rub every thing is going well.The thing is now every time i just turn the key in the viv lock it,s like ringing the dinner bell i meen it,s great she comes out slides into the rub where dinner is has her fill when she has finished i take of the lid and back into the viv she goes tryed her with her first rat to day no luck i think it may have been to big
it was the only one in the shop?.What i mean is this ok to keep let in her come out like this and back in by her self any thoughts would be great to hear from you regards Dave PS am feeding in a ceramic bowl she helps herself no strike feed. |

its fine to let them come out of their viv to avoid a viv-defensive reaction, hopefully with time she'll realise that the viv lock turning can mean handling OR food, and if she can't smell and food...........
with changing over to rats initially offer a rat the same size or maybe even slightly smaller than the mouse she was previously taking, and persevere with rats for a few feeds/attempts then if you've no luck keep her feeding response going with a few mouse feeds. if you're able to scent the rat with a mouse that can help too |
