Posted - 07/03/2010 : 22:19:50 It's one year today that I joined this forum :) Pics of the celebratory meal :)
On 08/03/09 he was 8 months old and weighed a mere 100g. He was dehydrated and has several layers of shed skin stuck on him, including at least two layers, maybe more, retained eyecaps. Most of you know the story by now.
Anyway...
On 06/03/10 he was 20 months old and weighs 620g empty. Still not a collosal weight, but I am happy with that, and if you were to see him in the flesh I think you would agree with me, he's pretty darn chunky :) I haven't had a single bad shed from him since then and he's only refused a few feeds, though to be fair I got fed up of him refusing feeds this winter so have only been offering once every 14 days, and he's been taking it each time. Will start to re-offer every 7 days when spring kicks in a little more (unless he hits 1000g before that- unlikely though), but this will have no doubt contributed to his slow weight gain. To be frank I would rather he put the weight on slowly and naturally anyway, without being powerfed just to hit a target weight for his age. I'm very happy with his progress anyway. He is also THE MOST SILLY docile snake on the face of this earth...which, all things considered is a bit of a blessing :D
Most of all, I wanted to say a special THANK YOU to all who helped us through the rough patch a year ago :) Keep it up loveys :D
(apologies for the huge amount of pics btw, I got a little bit snap happy) |
