Hi all, again i am still awaiting for my adult female Royal to eat for me just short of 9 weeks now, but i have notice a change of her habits and was wondering if this was good or bad. Since she arrived with me she has spent most of her time in a hide either the hot or cold end, but over the past couple of days she spends most of the time on top of the hides again either end, although still refusing food, both mice and rats. My question is this change a good sign that she is feeling a bit more secure within her environment or just something they do. Sorry for my waffle and ignorance but i do so want her to eat and be as happy as she possibly can be. |

It could just be that the recent UK heat has had he in basking mode but personally I agree with the above - if she was very stressed she would be hiding, not lying in open view, so she's obviously getting more relaxed in her surroundings. As Welly said, she'll eat when she's ready. After all, a non-eating period of 6-8 months in Royal's is not unheard of, so just keep giving her the opportunity and she'll no doubt make you proud  |

He'll eat when he's ready. I don't think that coming out into the open is a response to looking for food directly. But i'd say he's less stressed and is comfortable |

it is prob a good thing, i am only a noob so i might be rong, but to me it seems like he has settled in enough that he feels comfertable to come out and lye in the open |
