my cb10 female royal eats anything you give her, shes been on rat pups for weeks now and 4 weeks ago i weighed her she was 95g. last night it was feeding time for a few of my snakes, i had 3 jumbo adult mice lay on foil on the table, i got the little royal out ready to feed her the rat pup and mainly due to me not keeping an eye on her she decided to help her self to the adult mice, i got worried thinking it was to big for her so i tried to get her off but she wasnt having none of it, so i put her back and watched her. To my surprise she had no problem with it all though she does look really fat now. Do you think i should continue this or get her back on smaller rat pups next week

Yeah, when you THINK they're full and not interested in another meal ... My Spooky once went back after reluctantly eating her pinky into her viv, where someone else's small mouse was warming on the heatmat - smack my wrists, but how on earth did I know she'd look at it? Only took my eyes off her for a second and ...OMG I thought I'd have to call out the fire brigade!

Moved her up a mouse size after that ...

Also didn't leave temptation in anyone else's way again ...

well it is a surprise yes considering she is 95g and the mouse was massive.

So you put a snake down next to a mouse and what a surprise, it ate it....

LOL! Greedy little gannet! Bless her!

I've had this sort of thing happen with young corns - it's amazing what they can scarf down.

Rats are better, nutrition-wise, for royals. I can't be sure without seeing her and the rat pup, what the right size is for her, but a good rule is to feed 10-15% of a royal's bodyweight. She might need to move up to a larger size of rat.

Hope my Shahi's as greedy when I move him from mice to rats - been putting it off but making the change next week - wish me luck!

Still giggling about your girl - bet she gave you a shock!
