Hi guys I've been trying to find out a couple of things with no luck so hopefully you lovely people will be able to help
1, I'm considering building a rack system to house my new addition/s
and need some help with sizes the rack will probably hold both
babies and sub-adults/adults so what would be the best size
r.u.b's to get?

2, Would heating cable be the best thing to get if so what sort of
wattage would I need

And lastly I have a couple of mat stats from when I kept leo's would they be ok to use with heating cable? Cheers

I built my rack around my 33l RUB's. I have two RUBs side by side and it's 4 rubs high. For heat I use heat mats along the back 50% of the RUB and the ambient room temp is between 75 and 80. For hatchlings I use 5l rubs then 9, 18 and 33 for adults.

I'm going to try and explain as best as possible. The wattage depends on how many layers in the racks. BUT say for instance you build a four layer rack system and you use a 50W heat cable, the 50W isn't going to get or make the racks any hotter then if you would use a 150W, because its on a thermostat, BUT the 50W would work harder to get the racks the right temp as the 150W. Hope this helps or makes any sense.

Thanks CoN the racking part really helped but the heat cable part has still left me non the wiser lol I knew where to find it I just didn't know what wattage would be best to use but once again thanks for the info

How I keep my Balls :)

Hatchlings - 9L RUB

"Since Royal Pythons are notoriously bad eaters, as they will refuse a feed if they are stressed, being over-handled or are not kept in the correct conditions" always make sure they are happy first.

And about the Heatcable

Thanks anatess I don't know if we have the flexiwatt over here to be honest i've never come across it I was thinking that the 33l would do the trick but wasn't sure if it was deep enough I was also looking at the 50l it is the same length and width as the 33l but is about 55mm deeper but if the 33l is deep enough i'll stick with those lol.

1.) I would use the 4L for the hatchlings and the 33L for the adults.

2.) We use flexwatt in the States. If you can get that one, it's the best for rack systems. You can get the 3-inch wide size and have one running under one end of the 4L, then have 2 of them side-by-side to run under one end of the 33L.
