HI CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO TELL ME THE DIFFRENCE BETWEEN MALE OR FEMALE I KNOW THAT U CAN PROBE THEM BUT WHAT ARE THEM TWO HOOK LIKE THINGS ARE NEAR THE RING PIECE LOL

Lilith is right, popping is ok for a small hatchlig but the larger the snake probing is the only way to really get the sex right, make sure you have it done by someone who knows how to do it right.

Hi, the hooky things are called spurs; they are actually vestigial legs, since snakes evolved from lizards. Both male and female royals have them, and as far as I understand they aren't an indication as to gender.

Yes, the only reliable way is to probe - and even that's not 100% reliable, and a hatchling can be popped ... umm, even that's not reliable either ... the guy who sold me Shahi popped him and said something about 'his back legs' (ie spurs) ... ooops, Shahi, what if I've been calling you a lad all this time and ... oh and I've got him a wife too!

Time will tell!

ps they are pets - not the end of the world if I've got it wrong! But yes, if you are serious re breeding, get them probed by an expert!
