I got 3 mice out of the freezer this morning to feed to Tia tonight and this afternoon she poked her head out of her hide to show me she is in blue.
I've just fed Karla a rat, which she ate, and then offered her a mouse. She just looked at it as if to say "What that little thing! You're having a grin."
Mixi is due a feed so I'll see if she takes them.
This will be the first time that Tia has shed with me. I've upped the humidity and am now waiting. More to worry about and lose sleep over.
When I got her she still had retained shed around the neck, head and eyes, so I'm hoping with the better conditions she'll do better. Fingers crossed.

LOL - but in their case it would act as a chastity belt!

They're the right shape for a condom.

Martens in your garden ... cool!

Ha, Surahi is doing just the same as Tia - not eating, permanently in warm hide, and the temps are spot on. Surahi has just shed - hey, off the top of my head, doesn't a shed feature in the gravid process? Wonder if they are both broody?? Good luck with Tia's shed!

And Buffy, who's nearly 2 and a big girl now, is off her food and roaming, looking for a guy....Isn't it a pity you can't put snakes on the pill and let them have some fun?

We do have pine martens here, but the ones that come through the garden are beech martens. The pine martens are rare here too.
Tia is just sitting under her hide at the warm end and hasn't moved since Thursday.
The same goes for Mixi.
At least I've got Karla to play with.

Oh wow, you have martens? Thought they were REALLY rare!

Worth sacrificing a few rats to feed a marten or two (and nothing wrong with foxes and stoats either - one of my biggest thrills was sitting out on the front step here in inner-city Wakefield and seeing a fox slink out of the alley opposite ...)

She's just going into blue as well.
The local foxes, martens, stoats etc will be pleased though.

Ah, shame, but worth a try.

Hope Mixi does the honours.

I put a mouse by her nose but she wasn't interested.

Hoping Tia will be fine after shedding. as u said, better conditions will help hopefully :)

Ah, that's a bummer. Hope Mixi helps out with the mice - knowing corns, she will. Did you offer Tia a mouse? They sometimes will eat when in blue. This happened to me with Saada, I wouldn't have defrosted her a meal if I'd realised, but because the rat was there and ready and I'd disturbed her, I chanced it, and she took.

Good luck with the shed, Tia.
