I am going away on Thursday so i thought I would try my luck feeding Eclipse a couple of days outside the 7 day wait period as she seems to have settled in really well.

I gave the mouse a nice hair do, with the hairdryer, which my eldest found some what amusing when the poor dead mouse flew across the kitchen, anyhow I wasn't holding my breath, but what i didn't expect was for her to act scared of the mouse and shy away from it.. so I thought i would just pop it in her RUB so she can at least learn that she is not about to have her nose chewed off. Then she promptly used it as a pillow.

She is now cruising around her RUB ignoring the mouse with not a care in the world...

Just a taste of things to come i assume lol

Well it was still there this morning, so I have given it to the cat.. waste no want not, willtry again on Thursday before I go, I should have had my delivery of Rat pups by then..

As she is so little at 54g, I will keep an eye on her weight, I am sure she will eat in her own time. I have sort of ear marked a month before trying other 'not so desirable' methods. She supposedly had 3 consecutive feeds so has at least had something.. I have a Royal Breeder relatively close that I can turn to for help if needs be.. but I do love a challenge lol

LOL, I remember one of Dukes first meals was thrown up and over his head into the waterbowl, water and substrate flying everywhere. They sure know how to play with their food, maybe its because they are used to it playing back.

Ah ... classic example of yer average first royal feeding time ...

Yes, football, pillow, teddybear, you feel like saying, 'stop playing with your food, this minute!'

She won't die of starvation just yet, but frustrating, I know. She'll get there.

(And you never know, if you leave it with her, it might be gone in the morning.
