Hi i have a new royal and she prefers the cold side all the time?
the hot side is 93f and the cold side is 75f

i took her out tonight and made sure she went in her hot hide, within 10 mins she was in her cold side and stayed there?

Why?

I had Tig's temp at 93 to boost his metabolizm, but he wasn't liking it and stayed in his cool hide. I reduced it back down to 90 (what it should be at) and now he stays in the hot hide.

Try reducing it down to ninty, that's where it should be at.

My royals usually prefer the cool side (26c) to the warm side (32c) - even with identical hides. But it's a good idea to experiment with changing the hides around, to see if she has a favourite. (If she does, you will have to buy her another one of the same sort to put in the hot end...)

try swapping the hides so the one thats currently in the cold side is put in the warm side. Saying that isnt 93f a touch too high?

royals will sacrifice the temperature in order to sleep where they feel safe and happy.
