Posted - 14/05/2011 : 14:47:08 Yeah my local shop has mice and rats available on demand but you can preorder in guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, chicks & lizards. I'm guessing it was just a mistake, I would have thought the lack of a long tail would have made it quite obvious it was a hammy but it would have done no harm to your snake. |

Seriously though, imagine if people bought frozen hamsters and the snakes got addicted to those, and wouldn't go back on to rats ...Don't blame you for changing shops.
A lot of the larger frozen food suppliers will supply multis, gerbils, hamster and guinea pigs as well as the usual mice, rat, chicks and rabbits, obviously this shop had clients that had snakes or reps eating hamsters, no biggie. |

Posted - 14/05/2011 : 09:58:25 a few shops near me sell their rats and mice in sealed black bags so you can't see the contents. i once bought a bag of extra large mice for sully b4 he was on rats and on getting home and opening the bag found them to be more like small mice. neadless to say that was the last time i bought frozen food from them |

And... a budgie??? That's just daft : / Can Royals even digest the feathers properly? I know some snakes can, but I wouldn't feel happy feeding anything feathered to a Royal. ...Actually, I didn't even know you could buy budgies for snakes!
Yes, as BATS said, don't blame you ! |

You mean they didn't know a hat from a ramster??
That could cause a bit of difficulty from time to time!
Mind you, Mike Harding got into worse difficulties with a pet shop from all accounts (google Mike Harding - the 14lb budgie.)
