Has anyone got any experience with these thermostats? They look pretty nifty and I'm liking the control panel thing and think it would look nice and tidy built into my custom vivstack thats in progress at the moment.

I have one which i use with a heat mat. Works great although i don't used the night and day settings on it. Holds temperatures perfectly.

i used those stats for a while, about 2 months. but as they are on/off stats the temps fluctuated too much for my likeing. also it shortened the life of the ceramic bulb. they are now stat gathering dust in the spare room

Hi I have a couple with the timer for the light and the stat for the heat mat. Looks nice and neat and does the job although if I was buying now I would probably go dimmer stat. Always have to look up the instructions when setting up as the controls are not the most intuitive, and the timer does drift and has to be reset occasionally. But touch wood I've found them to be reliable and the digital display is easy to see and the whole set looks professional.

Its hopefully going to emerge from the mdf sheets like some strange pressed wood fibre board phoenix in 2 weekends time. Just planning out the saw cuts for minimum wastage and then fixings, paint, sealant, etc, then I can measure up the glass and get it ordered from my future step brother in law (if thats what its called, who knows), I have a few pieces of it I got from offcuts and I laid them out where they are meant to go and oh my god its going to be HUGE.

No I think your right, just had a nerdathon reading session and the products look good but for USA/Canada. I do like that heat plate thing that mounts to the ceiling.

I do like me habistats tho id rather use them than the micro climates

I was reading about the helix stat on tinter web and was reading that they don't work here but euro rep were trying to sort something out with helix
How true or if they are sorting something out I don't know

I first saw them on utube and Ralph Davis uses them and swears by them so I thought hmmmm I'll have a search
But found out they don't work in the uk :(
Please someone correct me on that :)

I was looking through info I could find on them and found out they are on/off and it put me right off, all that gadgetry and they blow it by scrimping on the stat part. will stick to my not so cool looking but very efficient habistat dimmers. I intend on concealing them so they won't spoil the look.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Why did you tell me about helix stats, they look REALLY good.

I was thinking about them but there on/off stat ain't they ?

Would look Very cool built in the stack tho

If they would work here I would have helix stats
