Hi, girls 1500g+ and in their 3rd winter before breeding, males 600g+ and in their 1st winter.

Good luck with the breeding, hope he eats well all summer and is raring to go this autumn.

see i'm hoping i don't jinx meself now, but Pip went off his food for ages (due to mites) and has only just started feeding again recently whereas Mo has only ever missed 1 meal in the same space of time ; i've heard that keeping the males smaller is better but they haveta be about 500gms+ is that right? i'm hoping to get him eating more regularly before i attempt to breed him, i don't think his little heart could take the stress! ;)

Apparently its good to keep the males smaller, its keeps them more interested and not to lazy. As you say they grow at different wieghts. My male pin was 200g in Oct when i got him and he`s now 480g. My female Mohave was 200g end December and is now 600g (empty). Really pleased with the Mojave as she was only 50g and an assist feeder 11 months ago.

i'm the other way round Hodgie, lol :) my Mo is almost 1000gms, pip's only 300gms despite being the same age?! amazing what a difference a few months on a diet (pip) can make! ;)

Jigsaws are gorgeous Royals and hardly never seen for sale. I`ve already got the correct combination available and its one of the first that i wanted to get. Just need to wait for little Mo to get up to size and age and then she`ll be off to have a bit with Zac

I was hoping to breed Mo & Pip together this year but Pip's gone back off his food (weighs bout 350gm now) so will have to hope he starts eating soon and (if i'm lucky!!) could have a little jigsaw this time next year :)
