Since this new viv design would need to house adult royals and I don't have one, this is to all those friendly adult royal owners out there . How thick are adult royals or should I say if I were to put a tube in an adults viv how wide would it need to be for the said adult to traverse through it safely?????

I know exactly what you mean, my first part of a custom build is happening in 2 weeks. I have everything planned and today I saw a day Gecko and realised how fixed the design is without room for expansion so I had to work out a way to extend the build should it be required (which it no doubt will need doing). |

Thanks It's very much in the planning stage at the moment the problem is I can see in my minds eye what I want to do but putting into practice is the hard part for me, my plan is to try and invent the next great innovation in royal homes lol and if I do you can have one for helping with the research and developement lol |

Ah, see what you mean ...I've tried a few ideas out, including cardboard archive boxes disguised behind fake plants, with a plastic hide box inside the archive box, to give different levels and dimensions to corn vivs. They liked this, but trouble was, they made an awful mess, being corns. And they're so nosy, incredible escapologists and explorers, like Surahi in my sleeve (I can't BELIEVE she got through that hole!) Sounds like a snake would enjoy your viv plan - good luck! |

I was thinking of putting something like a false compartment in the bottom, something that would slide out to give access to the snake and for cleaning, but it would be shaped like a rodents burrow somethnig that would resmble there natural habitat, but since Cerberus would spend all day there I would need to heat it hence the other post about heat mats, I'm guessing in the wild there burrows would be a constant temp and humidity, then there would be the actual design of the outer viv trade secret at the moment though I'm affraid lol |

oh, plenty, but you know us royals, we're either shy or zoom about wrecking the viv. you never can tell. what's the design you have in mind - are you connecting two levels with a tube or porthole or are you providing different levels in the same viv? Sounds interesting!
ps Lil's taken over typing now - says I need to go back to my viv as she feels like the hunchback of Notre Dame with me round her neck. |

hello, reptilemadd, surahi here again, yeah i know lil's off her head, i keep telling her that, but she's blushing re your kind remarks so i'm writing this again, and ...
in the house lil wears a disgusting old fleece with a 10p sized hole in one sleeve. all us snakes learn about that hole when out for armchair walkies - so useful to pop your head out of.
so, i'd had a couple of hours snooze round her neck and down her sleeve, and woke up. i put my head out of the gap in her sleeve and of course she oohed and aahed - well, i do look rather pretty since my last shed. although i'm only a dinker i do have this chocolate-sepia colouring and what they call 'insane' blushing - lil's not the only one who's blushing. or insane lol. of course she said, you'll never get out of that. but i did. she watched in astonishment as i eased my voluptuous curves out of her sleeve ... snakes can get anywhere. but of course a nice roomy tunnel in a viv would be fun for a royal to play in.
ps voluptuous. us royals aren't thick - we're voluptuous. |

Oh my god I just had to get involved and measured Duke at his fat bits and he is 18cm (tiny bit under but I'm a guy, we always round up when measuring anything). |

Scar is the oldest but smallest here he's only 1400 i'll measure him tonight if I get time between the new babies demanding water as they keep spilling their bottle tops... Sigh |

hi, this is surahi, and i must say i had a rather rude awakening 10 minutes ago, when that lil hauled me out of my viv and announced that she needed to find out how thick i am. i was most insulted.
'i'm perfectly intelligent,' i snapped.
'oh, sorry, i meant your girth.'
and she proceeded to wrap a piece of string around my waist, and measure it ... well. i don't mind helping someone out in the interests of viv design, but it was a bit undignified. i'm sitting typing this now and i might, i just might, honour her with armchair walkies and a neck cuddle later if i feel like it ...
oh yes, snakes can type. we can look at the screen and type with our asses ...you humans can't do that eh ...only we have to type in lower case because we can't manage the shift key.
lil says i haven't mentioned my vital statistics. oh. yes. 20cms round my curviest bit - i'm 5 and weigh about 1400g or a bit more.
