How can a small snake crap so much? Any why was it down to me to clean it all up, while Jack help the snake I was elbow deep in poop! ha ha ha ha

Thats exactly like Dio has been for the last 5 weeks. He's really rough when he moves over your hand.

LOL - you're not far wrong! My bed is in a corner of a 6' x 12' snake cave!

LOL - snake bedhead! (I invented bedhead - or rather my hair did lol.) Yeah, I've seen this with my big corns, they go all tatty.

Bob, this is very frivolous, but is that your mantelpiece with the Duke-skin on it? It's just that I can't SEE my mantelpiece for all the clutter ...I must be like a royal python, as my 4 room viv is packed out solid with cover, hides ...and vivs too ...

The first shed only took about a week. I'll be pleased when he does shed. I did think maybe it was coming off in little bits but we can't see any skin in the viv.

Poor little guy, Duke's got a 10 day turnover from going blue but he did dull al lot about a week before that. They do like to take their time, my corn does it all in a week.
Dio Posted - 22/06/2011 : 20:51:58
Someone on here said that their royal had stayed blue for about 7 weeks before shedding. Hopefully he will soon. He shed in April last so he shouldn't be due to shed for a while. I'm hoping it's just his reaction to the mites.

Air traffic control would be very busy with those flying pigs if Duke ever strikes at anything other than me.

That is strange no shed just dull, do you think he's maybe retained an entire shed?
Dio Posted - 22/06/2011 : 20:29:10
Thats the thing he hasn't actually shed yet just been dull for ages. He hasn't had proper eye caps yet either just a small patch of white on his right eye. He's completely lost a scale under his chin which i'm hoping will be sorted when he finally sheds.

It's good that they are all looking hungry. You never know Duke may surprise you and strike at it.

Ahh the had mites effect, shedding like its going out of fashion. Its only Duke's second shed since I got him in January.

Its really funny, tonight is feeding night, I have three different sized beasties defrosting on the viv and three little noses poking out of three hides. I think they are all hungry and to have Duke doing anything outside of his hide is shocking.

Thats a very good shed Lotabob. I'm still waiting for Dio to shed again. He's been 'blue' for nearly 2 months now.
Lotabob Posted - 22/06/2011 : 18:37:32
I've found it all tucked up and folded on the skin. Its feeding day for the other 2 so will see if he fancies a bite to eat tonight.

That shot of the eyecaps is eerie!

Yeah, I usually find that they pull off the lower jaw skin or lose their specs somewhere in the substrate.

Congrats Duke!
