Well, there are probably loads of topics similar to this one, but figured I'd post it anyway as I have a different budget to everyone else.
So I have around the £250 mark, and was wondering what sort of morph of royal are in that budget?
I've been looking at normals, pastels and spiders.
But I'm not too clued up on prices and things, like dependant on sex and weight etc...
So was looking to more experienced people to give me a bit of help on what's available to me.
It's not going to be a case of "right I can get a pastel so I'll buy the first one I see"...
I just want to know what's possible though to give me some things to think about :)

Base Morphs which fall into the affordable category are the likes of:
Pastels
Pinstripes
Spiders
Mojaves
Cinamons

Basically if the animal is a dominant single gene animal it is worth less than a recessive, as the chance of producing one is harder.
Then if you add a two gene snake, say a Pastel/Spider, the price goes up again. A two gene recessive, say Albino/Pied, now that does cost.
Use the worldofballpythons link to work out recessive/dominant. That is your best bet. The look at the odds of creating certain combos, bigger the numbers, the more they cost.

lots of people use the genetics wizard on this site but the morph list is fairly in depth too.

Ahh thanks a lot for that!
That site is absolutely amazing.
I would highly recommend that to any morph noobs out there such as myself lol.
It helps massively.

Sorry I missed this post!
And yes, I spend quite a bit of time on there, looking at prices and things, but there is quite a few on there I've seen, that are pricey.
The Reptile Room has an '06 proven breeder male super pastel in for £500.
And CPR has a CB11 male super pastel at £495...
But I do look on those kinds of sites, thanks for the link

Yeah that was basically the idea lol, just to give me some ball park figures, because theres no point looking on Google, finding a snake, and liking it and wanting one, if it's like £5,000
And I'm not sure, IansVivarium has started doing Royals... But rough price guides aren't on there.

500 quid has some good potential, you can get quite a few morphs with that, mainly the base morphs, and some double gene morphs like bumblee bees etc

Well, after having a word with my dad, and him saying he will help me out, I now have a 350-400 budget.
So can anyone give me any ideas up to that kind of price?
And yeah I will do Danny, but would like to get an idea of what options are open to me before actually contacting any breeders or anything

its not like your definatly going to buy from them, us saying what you might be able to get is helpful, but you will not now for sure unless you conatct a breeder with either requests of prices for certain morphs, or ask for a rough guide of what you would be able to afford with you budget. every breeder is different, so prices will vary. the breeder i am friends with sells mojave males at 150, whereas i have seen breeders selling males at 200-250, big difference

Oh yeah I totally get that, don't get me wrong.
But my point is, I don't know the general prices for snakes.
For example a Super Pastel on CPR is £795, and I thought it looked nice.
But a Killerbee, which I'm not a huge fan of, so didn't think it would be as much, is nearly triple the price at £2,195.
So the point of this topic, was to get an idea of the lower end "range" I suppose.
Rather than accurate prices.
Just more of how much potential my budget actually has, that's all.

it depends on breeders as well, some will sell them at the cheaper range, and others at a higher range, all for the same quality of animal. you would be looking an males for the higher end morphs like mojave or pinstripes, and orange ghosts, and then with the lower morphs like patels, spiders etc, you could get either, but females would bring it up higher towards your budget.
if i was you i would find a breeder, contact them and find out what they have that will be within you budget, is the better way to go as they might have some unusual things as well

My axanthic was 200
Mojave was 295

Wow I could get an orange ghost!
I hadn't realised that.
I'd also always had my eye on a pinstripe, but it was £350, didn't realise the prices dropped lower.
Thanks a lot guys!

You can get -
male Pastels for around £120, female £200
Male Pinstripe/male spider £250
or you may just be able to get a male and a female yellow belly if bought from a private breeder.
