Chancho is in full shed at the moment... i thought he was dead when i checked on him last night!!
He was fast asleep, with blue eyes and looking like someone had turned the brightness and contrast down on him, he was so dark! then he realised i was there, pulled a "don't look at me, i'm hideous" face and hid his head under his coils! i wanted to give him a huge cuddle but i knew he wouldn't appreciate that in the slightest!!
Bless them, snakes look so disheveled when it's shedding time! |

Ziska doesn't just pretend to be dead when she's shedding - she buries herself, and if I need to check on her for feeding purposes, I have to search through 10 sq ft of deep aspen and disinter a creature who looks like something out of the mummy's tomb ...
The sharp end's still pretty lively though ... |

awwww, i'm such a fusser with them too, i knew he was in shed as he had gone into hiding (he's one of the few active royals in the world i think!) and i'd left it as long as i could and then he was just so still! i was terrified i'd left him and he'd died (somehow i don't think a snake will die from just being left alone though LOL) but hey, we love them no matter how much they scare and worry us! x |

Oh Mystra thank god i'm not alone!
I've been testing the upper limits of my self-control not to check on Cora every hr!
She is so still and have only seen her venture outside of her hot hide once in 10days.
Did check on her this morning as had dreamt she was dead and so shook up by this had to go check in the wee hrs
