Hi all, recently got a gorgeous royal and she hasn't turned down a meal yet. Even took a mouse the day after I brought her home. My only concern is that she doesn't really strike properly or constrict. My brother got a royal the same day from the same place and his strikes perfectly. Is there any way I can get my royal to start striking properly? She's 4 months old and weighs just over 100g.

Yup - as Bob says. My male had problems feeding at first but then started striking and always has, except when coming out of his fast, Saada, the smaller female, fed without striking at first, but now strikes, and Surahi, the older female, I've never seen eat. I have to leave the rat outside her hide and all being well she pulls it in and scoffs it. They all behave differently - but I'd still use tongs if I were you, just in case she decides to strike one day lol.

Time may get it striking but many just dont bother wasting their energy on something that's dead already. Just keep doing what you are doing as its obviously working and striking may follow soon.
