Posted - 09/12/2011 : 18:39:50 Well clearly my guys dont like me today, feeding time so I fed my king snake he lost interest in his mouse so went to remove it and he stiked at me so I got the tongs to get the mouse so he bit and clung on to them for half a sec before realising how boring and cold the were and spat them out and went for me again loool but finally ate the mouse and to top it off fed Crystal one of my pythons, she was on my bed and ate well left her there to eat and just as she was finishing off my next door neighbour shouted to me to say my dinner was ready so I moved to put the corns faun back and as I did she struck at me with a hissing noise and did so a further 2 times lool. Not really sure what that was about. |

Posted - 10/12/2011 : 11:33:25 I'm not sure, Crystal is still cranky today so I got a feeling that she is about to go blue which won't surprise me because according to my bf Crystals brother is blue, not sure if they go around the same time if they're from the same litter loool. I'm going to just leave her be for a day or two as I for one do not believe RP are nasty for no reason. |

Posted - 10/12/2011 : 07:59:53 its normal while and after feeding, it happened to me too. afte rasha done with her food out of the viv, i get my hand close to her then suddenly she attacked my hand,, she missed my hand hehehe,, i think they do so to protect their food. most of the animals are so protective while eating. they think we are going to take their food away from them.. thats my opinion!! |

Posted - 09/12/2011 : 20:59:51 Sounds like it - they can sometimes be a bit keen for a while after feeding. She probably sensed your warmth and thought there was another meal in the offing - they're greedy little gits! |

Posted - 09/12/2011 : 19:39:53 Ha. You know what it is - these snakes expect us to offer, reverently, the appropriate prey and then sit quietly, as in church, until the last millimetre of tail disappears down the snakey gob.
Changing water bowls, stroking jealous cats, putting away a month's clean washing ...no. No activity whatsoever ...just sitting there, worshipping the sacred snake ...feeding...and then waiting patiently until the feeding frenzy has died down and, if fed out of viv, ushering them respectfully into their vivs ...
We do not, according to the snakes, have any other function other than to minister to their royal highnesses.
These snakes have got us trained ... |
