It has only been 2 feeds missed, dont see any point in trying braining, scneting or anything else for that matter. He has obviously eaten normally in the past he will do again just give him time is all. a few feeds is absolutely nothing to worry about or think about changing feeding styles.

yes does seem like its the big fast. will try the stock next feeding day an if hes not interested will offer every 2 weeks.
he only eats in the viv so will have to chuck the rat in the morning if he leaves it.
the other big one who still needs a name is still scoffing his rats, he ate the last one ass first. took him about an hour so i just put the feeding box in the viv an left him to it

Sounds like he's fasting - and unless you scent his rat with a nice bit of crumpet he may not fancy a mere rodent for a while lol. Though does no harm to try the marmite/chicken stock etc.

Three of mine are fasting now; only Shiva-the-Destroyer is still going strong though I expect him to knock off soon. I offer food every fortnight to the fasting ones, working their 'feeding day' in with other snakes and offering a smaller prey size that can be recycled by a willing corn or gopher if it's refused, as it usually is. I look on it as a sort of hibernation; they live on their fat and don't lose much weight. Come the spring Frank will be an eating machine again.

How old is he, I wouldn't stress too much just yet, when merlin wouldnt eat I put his food in chicken stock for a few minutes then he would strike straight away and now he feeds ever time without failx
