Posted - 13/12/2011 : 12:50:13 Rat snakes are great characters - Chrisc on here has a Baird's and can tell you about them; Baird's can be rare but there's a huge choice of different ratties.
The thing is to really fall in love with a snake - nobody can 'recommend' a snake to you - take your time deciding just what you want and if you can provide the correct husbandry and then, if you can get help with transport, be prepared to travel or use a courier to deliver the snake; in that way there's more choice than going into your local shop - unless that happens to be somewhere like Blue lizard of course.
I've been quite lucky in that I found breeders in the area and travelled by bus to meet them, and I've bought online from Blue Lizard twice, in order to get just what I want, which means buying unseen of course, and is more expensive, but I was very pleased with the snakes.
Hope you find your ideal snake. |
