Posted - 13/12/2011 : 10:47:50 The heat bulb in our viv blew last night and I didn't have a spare one . Been out this morning and got two from our local store, jake seems happy so everythings all ok, but i thought i'd just post to highlight the importance of having spare equipment for when or if your current equipment fails.
Not everyone can get out to a shop next day so its worth having spares ready. |

Posted - 13/12/2011 : 13:00:11 You're so right - snakey requirements or emergencies always happen just when you're dashing out or when as, a few nights ago, I was just rolling off to bed at 1 am and Shiva came to the front of the viv to explain that he'd left a huge wee and log in his favourite hide, and could I do something about it please. THEN he wanted armchair walkies ...he would!
I once had to change Saada's infra red at 3am - I always keep spare bulbs, especially at this time of year, and I'm lucky to have a couple of spare mats and stats as well - useless for the royals of course but the colubrids would be fine with them if I had to nick their gear for the royals. Plus spare rubs and vivs ...a trifle over the top but spare anything never comes amiss lol!
A very good idea I think. |
