Hi guys its me once again I was in my local exotic pet shop today buying some rats and i was talking to a lady at the counter, I mentioned that i was after either a Spider or a pinstripe morph. I said that the i favored towards the pin because of the head wobble i have seen on spiders ( mostly on youtube ) But then she said that its quite a rare thing and not all spider royals do this? So is she talking complete #@!!% ? Haha

Id say around the £250 mark for a female

think males are around 150 so females are about 175 - 200 i think

its not only the spider gene that has the wobble, the woma gene which is very like the spider pattern also carries the head wobble. luckily this is not genetic like the spider head wobble, and is only displayed in some womas (not the NERD hidden gene woma though)

i would say thats a fair price for a pet shop

That's good what would you say a good price for a spider is mate. Shop near me charges £150 for males

i wouldnt have thought so i dont really see my spider star gaze
when shes getting ready to strike i can see slight wobble
before she strikes (shes excited)

only prob i have and its prob just my one is if she dont get the rat on the button (rats head) she will let go and wont go to do it her self i have to dangle again :)
i wouldnt swap her for the world
shes nearly 1500grams as well and a cb10 (great feeder) ;)

I have always wondered if the spiders life expectancy is affected by the head wobble cause I know in other snakes stargazing is a sign of mbd. Does anyone know if it does affect them this way or not
Kelfezond Posted - 24/02/2012 : 13:02:24
And they have great personalities too I love my little bee :D She's so dopey ^^
Evolution Morphs Posted - 24/02/2012 : 12:14:04
its the spider gene
other have faults like

the female desert inability to actually produce viable eggs

super cinny / duck bill

caramel albino / kinks

and others

on a plus spiders have a fantastic rep of been a good feeders

Not so good :(

Is it only spider royals that are affected ?
Kelfezond Posted - 24/02/2012 : 11:43:14
It effects their balance and strike aim. Not an issue in captivity but dangerous in the wild.
Keg Posted - 24/02/2012 : 11:18:52
What does it do to the snakes except make their head wobble ?
jbarlow91 Posted - 24/02/2012 : 06:56:42
All spiders and morphs made from spiders like bumblebees have head wobble, its worse in some snakes than others tho I think in most it only becomes visible at feeding time cause they get all exited and loose control lol, but then u get other where it is really severe
