think i may have snakes on the brain.
just spend a couple of days in hospital an all i could think was how good these would be for snake hides.
just cut the very bottom off an bury in the substrate

LOL!

You ever seen this Billy Connolly sketch about the adventures of Huey and Ralph?

Warning - not suitable to be watched by anyone eating lunch - high diced carrot content ...

Tell you what would make good hides as well - those grey papier mache sick bowls they use in hospitals (hope nobody's eating their lunch lol.)

All you'd need to do would be to cut a hole in the side, et voila! All ready for Hughie or Igor (sorry!) to crawl in and out ...

Oh my word, sounds like you've been through a hell of a lot through your life. Hope you recover well from the latest op.
Oh,and LOL at the hide idea....or should I say PMSL!

Wow that looks painful on your leg mate
n/a Posted - 03/03/2012 : 00:40:11
Omg that all sounds horrendous (by the look of that photo you had to go through enough as a kid) but glad you have a decent medical centre who knows your case. That counts for a lot these days.
chrisc Posted - 03/03/2012 : 00:17:42
the nickname peg has stuck since school.
yes the nuffield oprthopedic center in oxford have done some amazing stuff, wont let anyone else do surgery to my leg.
unfortunatly i will need more surgery. need the torn cartalidge cut away in my knee again but im putting that off as its not that painfull at the moment.
may need knee an ankle replacements in the future but will see how long they hold out, quite a few years yet hopefully

Ah - I'd seen your sig on your youtube vids and wondered why 'Peg' but it's so hard to get an original username on youtube (there's even someone on there called BurnedAtTheStake- I have to be IamZiska lol.)

That is just such bad luck ...sounds like you've been lucky to keep your leg and foot but hope an end will come to all the ops and medical stuff eventually. All the very very very best.
chrisc Posted - 02/03/2012 : 23:32:08
i was born with my leg round my neck an my foot was a bag of bones so they had to rebuild it from what was there. my ankle is fused, got several toes stuck together.
got a metal plate in my shin where they turned my foot straight and had this on for 10 months to lengthen my leg

plus loads of other ops for things with my leg.
most people know me as peg

Omg sounds awful (mind you I hate hospitals - I once had a diy accident and walked out after they repaired a tendon in my hand, grisly experience lol.)

But to have had to do that all your life ...forgive my asking but what on earth caused you to have to under go all that?
chrisc Posted - 02/03/2012 : 22:24:43
now that sounds painfull. think i might win on the scar front, im on 20+ operations i think including my leg being lengthened 8cm when i was 8 or 9.

can get them on ebay, might order a couple

Sorry to hear about the hospital trip chrisc, we'll have to compare scars I've got an 11 inch one one my leg from having my knee cap (patela)realigned when I was 16, great idea about those bottles though I might even order a few, and if I don't use them for the snakes they will always save me getting up a million times in the night for a pee,LMAO.....
chrisc Posted - 02/03/2012 : 20:47:03
thanks all. should heal up fine but will be hobbling around on crutches for a few weeks
n/a Posted - 02/03/2012 : 20:40:59
Ouch, that doesn't sound good, but do hope you're more comfortable soon - all the best, fingers crossed, cats are crossing their paws and snakes are crossing their tails, get well soon Chris!
chrisc Posted - 02/03/2012 : 20:26:03
haha, was thinking of cutting the bottom so you can get the snake out if needed.

thanks bats. will be off work for maybe 6 weeks ish an have a new 10" scar on my leg.
been having surgey on my leg since i was a kid so its all second nature to me now.
would post a pic but its extremley nasty/gorey
n/a Posted - 02/03/2012 : 20:21:50
LOLOLOL!!!!

Why cut the bottom off though - the snake will wee in it anyway (oops ought to rephrase that!) and then the whole thing can be easily disposed of.

Sorry to hear you've been in hospital - hope you're on the mend- all the best.
