Posted - 05/03/2012 : 08:25:42 Well a few weeks back my pac man died. He bloated up really badly and as much as I did to help him (and at time i thought his bloat was going down) i think the stress of it got to him. I spoke to someone who put it down to a bacterial infection and that not alot could be done :(
In better news I have been able to secure weaner rats for my Mister (big yay) at £2.30 each :oO but OMG hes gotten big...hes in blue now and give me a false strike the other day and refused his rat this week, shoulda known better than to waste £2.30 during a shed.
My Carlycorn shed her skin and dislikes rats, she didnt eat for a few weeks while in shed and i tried to double drop her on two large mice after shed but she refused the second. I wouldnt have said she was overweight when she come to me but she was a bit on the chunky side, I can see shes dropped right down now in size. I dont think shes underweight but my OH used to feed her 2 jumbos a week...and now she gets one jumbo or large a week...i tried to give her misters refused rat but she didnt want it...and i didnt fancy braining it :( |

Posted - 05/03/2012 : 11:54:52 Aww, so sorry to hear about the pacman, poor little guy.
Good news about the weaner rats though - but that price is horrendous. It's a pity you haven't any snakey friends near you who you could share a bulk delivery of frozen with - you're nowhere near Wakefield are you, otherwise you could have some from me.
Yeah, it's a bit difficult sometimes to know the right amount of food for an adult corn - my two 5' whoppers, Buffy and Saffron, will eat a large weaner or two large mice each every 10 days, though lately Saffy's been content with one mouse. Spider and Spooky are a bit smaller; they get one large mouse each week and could probably take more but I think one's enough for now. Pity your girl won't recycle the royal's weaner rat if he refuses it.
You know, you've given me an idea - maybe it'd be a good idea to start a thread about sharing bulk deliveries of frozen - the prices shops charge are plain ridiculous. |
