Hi..

As there isn't a 'personal' thread I thought general is the closest.

Just enquiring to see if anybody would like to help crew our '43 sailing ketch up to the Orkneys for probably a week. Some sailing experience, you don't have to have Yachtmaster or anything like that, but it is crossing the North Sea and can be a bit rough. Trip is likely to be in July, so making plans now :)
She is berthed in Lossiemouth..Morayshire NE Scotland

Ah. Yeah, probably might someone with a bit of sailing experience then. I'd spend my days shouting "STUFF!!" and you'd be like "Yeah, that's driftwood, you idiot".

Plus, I can't swim. Ironically, due to an accident involving a life jacket.

lol nope..stuff like warning buoys, ferries, lobster pot buoys any other boat within 4 miles, floating trawler nets..anything that could foul the prop.
Hopefully no iceburgs lol

Yeeaahh I don't even know what helming is, so I'd be a pretty useless boat driver :p Pretty sure I can look out for stuff though, if by "stuff" you mean Icebergs - yeah, I've seen Titanic!

lol Rob..nah she's an ocean going cruiser. Brought us home across Biscay and the Irish Sea in a horrendous storm..gusts up to Force 10 and 40' waves..that was scarey

That's a pity Mark would have been good having you help crew her.

Trouble is Seven that that trip is around 12hrs so really need one or two that can take a watch..helming, look out..needs 2 crew per watch really.

Oh goodness me, I was almost sick just looking at that boat.

wish I was able to, but work commitments means little opportunity to take much of a break this summer. I used to sale when I was younger. I was pretty good and was selected to race for my school.
