been running it in cillas new viv for a few days now and i must say im very impressed with it. took about 2hrs if that to heat the viv up and holding the temps nicely. i have a digi thermometer a couple of inches in front of it at ground level holding at 30c, one above it roughly where the highest branch will be holding at 29.5c and one at the cold side ground level holding at 25c. the only place i haven't put a thermometer is at the top of the cold as there is no branches in the viv yet. i am using the 500w AHS.

so looks like i wont need to run the ceramic buld i fitted into the viv but will leave it in as a back up

They are good heaters, I have the same in Fea's viv and it sits at a steady 30.9 top and bottom at the warm end, 28 at the cool side I think..but the room is 21 minimum :)
