I know this is posted in the wrong thread, but I really need my mind at ease...after losing Casper who never fed with me.

I have a concern regarding feeding..while Ra was in the blue phase he ate his crawler mouse with no problem, but he refused his last feed. Could that be because he uncomfortable and just wants to rub himself?

Oh yeah it is very irritating for them to have a bad shed, and a weird experience for them to have us 'help' them. Quickest way to help is to help them quick and stick them in a damp pillowcase, I've done this for Duke when he didn't shed he split it was awful but 20 minutes later it just fell off him. The Boa is the only one I haven't had to help and it does change them into grumpy when things go bad. Plus yours is a beaty snake, having a pop is hard wired into them, lol.

We gave him a bath in Kit's old baby bath..he took a little swim before climbing out after around 10 mins soak.
And hey was back to his sweet self :)

Thanks Rob,

He's having a rough shed, skin coming off in patches..I upped the humidity to 70-80% and rubs on everything. I tried him on a mouse tonight, but he was more interested in having a lunge at me, which is unlike him.

Is that stress caused by shadding?

Not one of my lot feed when shedding, I offered the first time, they didn't eat, now when they start to shed I just dont offer any food and save it for when there is no (less) chance they will refuse. If they are about to shed very soon they dont want to do it on a full belly so dont worry he is just been sensible.
