Hi Jebus,

Well he last fed on the 7th..about when he went blue. I was worried as he'd started refusing feeds when he had patches of skin all over him. We bathed him, that cleared his body but he still would not eat...

Then last time we held him, he started to gape and clicking sounds and this time I was taking no chances so called the vet. He hadn't cleared his head, nostrils, mouth or eye caps but the vet just dampened a towel edge and rubbed it off.

So he'd been uncomfortable since the 7th..about 2 weeks.

Thanks Leedx :)

I just checked and he's curled up in his warm hide, peeking out.

Awesome news. So happy for you both :)

Thanks Austin :) Me too I was so worried.

Leedx, he's just a baby Beauty Snake and he had refused 3 feeds, then a horrendous shed..was gaping and clicking. I was scared cos I had my baby corn die without obvious reason.
So stuck eye caps and hood was bothering him :)
Thanks for asking

Aww I'm so glad he's ok :)

Thank you Rob and you Kelf :)

I am so relieved, now just a feed and all is back as was, but i'm confident that he will. No handling until a mouse vanishes.

Great news! Hope ra gets his appetite back soon
Lotabob Posted - 23/05/2012 : 18:05:25
I'd give it a week, even if Ra was good I'm sure he's been a bit spooked by it all, just 1 week with no handling or fuss and I'm sure he will eat like a champ.

That has to be the best spent £12 ever

The little sweetheart was as good as gold while Richard (vet) rubbed his head with a damp towel, it took ages hood was well and truly stuck.
Then two eyecaps were worked off with a cotton bud, again it took ages. Tip of his tail was removed and all the while little Ra was calmly flicking his tongue.
Nose too.

He even held him through the hatch for the receptionist to stroke

He checked him for an RI but no signs, no mucuous, windpipe was perfect, he waiting til he took a breath to be sure.

So, now basically I am sooo happy and relieved, i'll wait until Friday to try another feed. Pretty sure we have eased the cause :)

Thanks guys :)
