I won't be caught out again by Ra, or Henry when he sheds next. I got a bottle of the Zoo Med shed ease ready from Ebay.

Anybody use this?
If so does it work?

i've used this stuff myself on the rare occassions they have a bad shed - it's great ; smells a bit like tea tree oil but works really well ; just spray the affected part quite well, give it a rub and within 5 mins it should peel off with no problems. :)

Aye Bats, its a spray..here is the link:

I think i'll give him a light spray when I collect him, or very soon after as he had such a rough shed. That bad he might still be uncomfortable.

Zoo med repti shedding aid that you spray on?

I used it on Sulah's mask and eyecaps plus a pillowcase bath and they came off like a dream, so don't know for sure what worked. You can also use it in between sheds as a skin conditioner to ease a future shed - using it on Spooky's tailtip which always retains. As has been said - does no harm.

Sharif shed this morning - perfect except for tailtip but the shed aid was in another room so rather than mess about I just dipped his tail in his water bowl (he's very well behaved) and massaged the stuck end off.

Do feel I'm trying to do my best by them, having the shed aid there though lol.

Thanks for replying guys :)

I hope so Rob, my Royal and Boa I have had no problems 'Touch Wood' only the Beauty snake..in fact Fea has gone blue so he shouldn't be long. Slinky is usually a day or two behind him.
This time with Ra, i'll spray his faun as soon as blue, moss box in and maybe a spray with that stuff once his eyes clear :)

The important thing is it cant hurt. You won't be caught out by him again anyway you'll have the humidity through the roof and he will sneeze and his skin will just fly off. I bought my lot £3 Tesco cooking pots to soak in should they require it in this weather, it has slightly increased the humidity and given Spot a new toy to play with and a new hide to hide behind. I've had a few bad sheds when I moved them to the stack but I have the knack now at increasing humidity in it, the last 2 sheds in there have been perfect so you will have it down to a fine art in no time.

if theres i bit thats really stuck i use a damp cotton bud to work it loose after a bath, not had to deal with eye caps yet just bad sheds

I have had a bottle of this for about 6 months or so. I have used it twice and i'm not sure its done anything at all tbh. When i've used it, I have massaged a generous amount in, but it has not worked aswell as a soak, or the pillow case imo.

Well I tried bathing and yes it did get most off but not his hood or eye caps..even the vet had to rub his head for 35 mins to get it off.
Pillowcase wasn't much help either as he just curled up at the bottom motionless, so I figured couldn't hurt to try this :)
